Teddi Mellencamp took to her platform to tell followers that her 5 month old baby girl has been diagnosed with a rather rare medical condition known as Lambdoid Craniosynostosis. That being said, the infant needs to have neurosurgery and the worried mother admitted she is really anxious about it.

This is also why she asked fans for prayers as little Dove goes through the operation.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills celeb posted an adorable close up snap that showed the infant’s precious face.

She explained in the caption that this condition happens when ‘one of the lambdoid sutures [which is] at the back of the head fuses before being born. Dealing with the anxiety, especially in the ‘public eye,’ is not easy; and going into July it is at an all time high. I was torn if I should share this, but as somebody who tries to be as transparent as possible, and knowing that I have a platform to reach others in similar situations, I’d like to update you all.’

‘Our sweet baby Dove was diagnosed with Lambdoid Craniosynostosis and has to undergo neurosurgery at the end of the month,’ she went on to reveal.

According to Children’s National, the condition appears when ‘the bones of a baby’s skull grow together way too early, leading to problems with brain growth and head shape.’

Treatment is necessary as without it, it could cause ‘head deformity, increased pressure on the brain, seizures, and even developmental delay!’

The reality TV mother made sure to thank the medical team performing the surgery and asked for prayers from her many followers.

Teddi also discussed the recovery period, revealing that the baby will have to stay in the hospital for about a week after the operation and continue recovering at home for a couple more.
