A luxury Jan Juc beachside residence recently vacated by Australian tennis champion Mark Phillippoussis has hit the market.

The three-bedroom residence at 23 Carnarvon Ave, Jan Juc, has been listed for private sale with price expectations from $3.4m to $3.7m.

The home in Jan Juc’s “golden triangle”, opposite the RACV Torquay Golf Club fairways and with a view of the beach, was the Surf Coast home to Philippoussis and wife Silvana since coming back to Australia from San Diego.

The surf coast offered the beaches, which is 200m from the front gate, relaxed lifestyle and space for their young son Nicholas and daughter Maia.

Philippoussis has been a keen surfer since during his injury-plagued tennis career where he peaked at No. 8 on world rankings, winning career titles, two Davis Cup titles with Australia in 1999 and 2003 and making the finals of the US Open and Wimbledon.

He starred on SAS Australia in 2021.

“How amazing it’s been to check the waves from your balcony, then simply walk across the road for a surf,” Philippoussis said in a note to his landlord.

Property Exchange Group selling agent Alex Lyons said Carnarvon Ave is the epitome of beachside living.

“The property offers the unique lifestyle of having Jan Juc beach, Surf Coast walking and riding trails, Torquay Golf Course, Jan Juc Surf Club and Bird Rock shops on your doorstep,” Mr Lyons said.

“There is only a handful of properties that are truly ‘beach walkable’, no longer needing to pack the car, crying kids, no shoes. Just a towel over the shoulder and you’re there,” he said.

The house was renovated in 2020 to showcase a modern beachside character.

It’s position at the rear of the block to maximise the vantage over the garden and views beyond.

The 7m by 8m deck offers panoramic views across the Torquay golf course and Jan Juc beach.

The home’s main room comprises the open plan kitchen and dining area, with v-groove panelling, stone benchtops and oak timber floorboards.

Large format stacking doors separate the elevated living area and the deck.

Lower level bedrooms have a separate living area, while the spacious master retreat is upstairs with an ensuite, walk-in wardrobe and private balcony.

The 691sq m property has an intercom and automatic gate, a mini basketball court, in-ground trampoline and kids cubby house, and a substantial vegie garden.
